Yummy Bruschetta!!

I decided to make some bruschetta today. You can see how easy it is to make when you look at the following post! :)

How to make bruschetta

First: start with some tomatoes on the vine, cut them into quarters and remove the seeds.

Then dice the tomatoes into small pieces.

Put these into a bowl.

Then I add a little bit of salt and pepper for flavor.

You may also add a couple cloves of garlic if you'd like, I do!

Chop the garlic up real small and then add to the tomotoes.

Then I like to add some FRESH basil. Since it's summer, I got mine from my herb garden outside.

Make sure to rinse it well and dry on paper towel.

Chop up the basil and again add it to the tomotoes and garlic.

Mix everything up and set aside for all of the ingrediants to blend together!

Now take some fresh french bread and slice into about one inch pieces.

Also, put some olive oil in a small bowl.

Arrange the bread on a cookie sheet, spread the olive oil on the bread.

Put this into an oven where the broiler has been pre-heating.

Cook until the edges of bread are golden brown.

When the bread is done, take it out of oven and top with tomato topping.

If you like you can add some parmesean cheese and put into oven for another minute.

Voila! Yummy bruschetta in no time at all! Serve to your guests on a pretty platter.

ENJOY!!

Fun on the 4th of July!!

This is what happens when you give grown-ups these three things:

1. alcohol
2. fireworks!
3. toy trucks

All in all, a pretty fun experience! :)

I LOVE this holiday!! This year we all gathered together at Myka and Jeff's place in Holland. We enjoyed eachothers company while sitting around eating and drinking and being merry! :) As the evening turned into night, Ryan brought out a box of sparklers for all, the kids AND grown-ups enjoyed these. Thanks Ryan!
We all enjoyed our own mini-firework show, Ian had brought over many of the bigger ones that go up in the air! What a great day! God Bless America!

House of Night

So after reading all of the Twilight books, and watching the first season of True Blood, someone recommended I try this series. I'm not sure what my recent obsession is with vampires, but I must say that I rather like this series. :) They are the perfect summer read. Very easy to follow and you go through them like water! So if you yourself have read all the Twilight books, you should give these book a go! ENJOY!
